The Healing Art of Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of traditional Japanese bodywork therapy, rooted in intuitive touch and a deep connection to the body’s energy.

Utilizing the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the meridian system, a practitioner can diagnose imbalances that may lead to illness or disruptions in the body’s harmony.

The essence of Shiatsu lies in its unique approach, which combines pressure and gentle stretching techniques. By applying specific pressure to various points on the body, the aim is to reestablish the natural energy flow, known as Qi. This, in turn, harmonises the body, mind, and spirit.

Shiatsu treats the whole person, connecting with the energetic (Qi), physical, and emotional aspects, allowing us to explore and address emotional and spiritual areas on our journey toward wholeness.

The therapeutic touch of Shiatsu not only helps to release muscle tension but also stimulates the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers and mood enhancers. As the pressure is applied, the muscles relax, allowing for improved blood circulation and the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tense areas. During session

In a Shiatsu session, I will guide you to become more conscious and aware of your body’s state and the root cause of any imbalance, helping you release what no longer serves you. This process allows you to return to a more natural state of being and live a more joyful life.

The therapy is performed on a futon mat, tailored to fit your individual needs. To fully enjoy the experience, it is recommended to wear comfortable clothing.
